Here is more information about the individual components of the grade:
Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a cumulative final. Each section will have its own final exam, written by the instructor. The exams will be closed book and student-prepared formula sheets will not be permitted.
Homework: There will be a written homework assignment for each chapter. Solutions to each homework assignment are posted on the Sakai page under "Resources" shortly after the assignment is due. Late homework will not be accepted. If you are unable to come to class the day homework is due, you may use the Dropbox tool in Sakai to submit.
Quizzes: Quizzes may be administered in class, at the instructor's discretion.
Attendance: You are expected to attend every class meeting, though attendance is not a direct part of the computation of course grades.
The following plan for the course is tentative.
In particular, dates of the midterm examinations are not definite
but will be announced in class.
