No problems need to be handed in at the last recitation, Dec. 12. However, students are responsible for the assigned problems in sections 5.8 and 6.1.

FINAL EXAM INFORMATION

FINAL: Monday, December 17, 4-7PM. Sections 20, 21, 22 take the exam in Lucy Stone Hall, A143.

FINAL EXAM REVIEW: 1) Prof. Soffer's review; Thursday, Dec. 13, 1PM, ARC 103, Busch Campus. 2) Dan Ocone's review: Thursday, Dec. 13, 4-5:30, Hill 116, Busch campus.

Televised final exam review on Fri Dec 14 from 3-5pm. Students can be part of the live audience in Livingston Learning Center, watch it on RU-TV, or watch it online. Students watching live can call in with questions while it is going on. The TV schedule is: 12/14 - 3pm, 12/15 - 9:30am, 5pm and 12/16 - 3pm. The web page where the review problems and the link to watch the program is: http://rutv.rutgers.edu/tutorials.shtml. The link to actually watch the review will not be up until moments before the review starts. Questions will be confined to questions on this review sheet. RU-TV will replay the review several times before the exam, on 12/15 at 9:30Am and 5PM, and on 12/16 at 3PM.

  • Text: Calculus Early Transcendentals by Jon Rogawski, W. H. Freeman and Company; first edition.
    PLEASE NOTE: This is a new textbook for this course. Do NOT purchase used copies of the previous text by Stewart for Math 151.
  • Calculators: A graphing calculator is required for this course. We recommend the TI-82 or 83, but any calculator with equivalent capacities can be used, such as the popular TI-85 or TI-86.

Syllabus, Tests, Grading, Academic Integrity
  • Syllabus and Problem Sets: The syllabus and homework problems for this section differ in minor details from the suggested syllabus and assignments posted on the departmental 151-152 web site. Please use the link that follows if you are enrolled in sections 20-22.
  • Syllabus and Problems, Math 151:Sections 20-22

    Format for homework solutions to be handed in:. (1) On your paper, restate each problem; (2) Show your work and explain in at least one or two sentences, the steps of your calculations, with short references to the facts or technique being used; (3) Clearly indicate the final answer; (4) If you use several sheets of paper, staple them together.
  • Exams: There will be two, in-class midterm exams and a final. The midterm exams are scheduled tentatively for October 11 and November 15. The final exam is a common exam---that is, it will be the same exam for all 151 sections. It will be held on Monday, December 17, 4-7PM. Students may reschedule exams only in the case of verifiable medical or family emergency.
  • Grades: Grades will be assigned based on a cumulative average computed as follows; 100 points each midterm, 50 points for homework and quizzes, 50 for points workshops, 200 points for the final (500 points total).
