You are allowed to bring 4 single-sided sheets of notes (or 2 double-sided sheets.) You should bring a calculator.
You will be provided in addition with Appendices B and C of the text, and the tables from the text for the normal distribution, the t distribution, the chi-square distribution, and the F distribution. In addition you will be provided with a formula sheet. You may find a preliminary version of this formula sheet at by clicking here. This formula sheet is incomplete. It will be completed by the tables on pages 491 and 496 of the text for one-way and two-way ANOVA.
Not everything on the formula sheet will necessarily be used on the text. Conversely, you will certainly want to write down additional information on your crib sheets. I recommend you prepare them by looking at what additional information you needed and used to do the problems of the first two exams and the chief homework problems of the material of the first two exams, and what you use to do the homework problems for the material after the second exam.
The exam should be approximately half old material and half new, but if it turns out to be significantly different than this, I will post this information here in an update. For the old material, use the first two exams as a guide as to what topics to concentrate on. There will not be a problem on sufficient statistics.
If I have anything to add, I will post updates to this page, so you should check back.
UPDATES: (Wednesday, May 7.) I have not decided on the final form of the final, but I can see that it will emphasize material since the second exam more than old material, rather than being strictly half and half.
The exam will be in Room 203, SERC, instead of 220.
