Setting up your Math account using Outlook Express 4/5/6

1. Start the Outlook Express program. If this is your first time running the Outlook Express program skip to step 4 since the Internet Connection Wizard screen will open automatically.

2. From the Outlook Express main menu select Tools and select Accounts.

   
   
   

3. Click on the Add and then Mail...

   
   
   

4. The Internet Connection Wizard screen will now appear. In it enter your Display Name (full name). This name will be seen by the recipients in all the messages you send. Then click on the Next button.

   
   

5. Note: From this point on all the information (except your password) must be typed in small letters. Enter your Math E-mail Address. The format must be yourmathusername@math.rutgers.edu Then click on the Next button.

   

6. Change the "My incoming mail server is a" to IMAP. By default it is POP3. Type in both the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers "math.rutgers.edu". Click on the Next button.

   

7. Make sure that the Account name is your correct math username. Type in your password below.

   
   

8. Click on the Finish button and also the Close button if needed.
