Number Theory Seminar

A Metaplectic Eisenstein Distribution on GL(3) over Q

Location:  Hill 525
Date & time: Tuesday, 18 October 2016 at 2:00PM - 2:11PM

Ed Karasiewicz, Rutgers University: Eisenstein series are a powerful tool in the study of automorphic L-functions. Shimura proved the meromorphic continuation of the symmetric square L-function by studying the Fourier expansion of a metaplectic Eisenstein series on GL(2). We will consider the Fourier expansion of a metaplectic Eisenstein distribution on GL(3) over Q.

This is related to work of Brubaker, Bump, Friedberg, and Hoffstein on metaplectic Eisenstein series on GL(3) over fields containing the 4th roots of unity.
