Location:  Hill 705
Date & time: Thursday, 20 October 2016 at 5:00PM - 5:11PM

Sateesh R. Mane, Convergent Computing :The Fuss-Catalan numbers are a generalization of the more well-known Catalan numbers. The Fuss-Catalan numbers will be defined, also with a short historical sketch. Pertinent recurrence relations, convolution identities, generating functions, etc will be presented. Sample applications to combinatorics, probability & statistics and complex analysis will be shown. The emphasis in this talk will be on the generality of the usefulness of Fuss-Catalan numbers.
