Algebra Seminar

K-theoretic Schubert calculus

Location:  Hill 423
Date & time: Wednesday, 26 October 2016 at 2:00PM - 2:11PM

Oliver Pechenik, Rutgers University: The many forms of the celebrated Littlewood-Richardson rule give combinatorial descriptions of the product structure of Grassmannian cohomology. Anders Buch (2002) was the first to extend one of these forms to the richer world of K-theory. I will discuss joint work with Alexander Yong on lifting another form from cohomology to K-theory. This latter form has the advantage of extending further to give the first proved rule in torus-equivariant K-theory, as well as partially extending to the case of isotropic Grassmannians.
