Braid groups and the topology of configuration spaces
Abstract:
This lecture based on joint work with J. Berrick,
Y. Wong, J. Wu as well as R. Budney is a survey
of recent results concerning braid groups and
their applications. The main theme is the
connections between classical configuration
spaces, Lie algebras, spaces of knots and
homotopy theory.
