Physics-based Modeling for Medical, Vision  and Graphics Application

We will present the use of physics and mathematics in novel medical, computer vision and graphics applications.

In the first part of the talk I will present visual tracking and shape estimation  of faces based on the use of Lagrangian dynamics subject to constraints.  In the second part of the talk I will present the use of nonlinear dynamical system theory for modeling low level real time agent behaviors and a method based on forward and inverse kinematics for modeling human walking on even and uneven terrain.  Finally, I will present a method for modeling and analysis of the heart's motion from MRI using finite elements.
