Complex Dynamics in Higher Dimension

John Erik Fornaess (University of Michigan)

Abstract:

The field of complex dynamics is a classical topic going back to the latter part of the 19th century. The first problem was to find complex roots of quadratic polynomials using Newtons method. This leads to iteration of analytic, holomorphic or rational maps. The problem of using Newtons method for polynomial equations of several unknowns leads likewise to complex dynamics in higher dimension.
