Very rapidly growing functions in geometry
Alexander Nabutovsky,

of Toronto)
I will review some natural problems in real algebraic geometry,
differential geometry and geometric group theory, where answers are
provided by very rapidly growing functions. The most rapidly growing functions
appear when one attempts to classify all sequences of Betti numbers of
finitely presented groups (our recent joint work with Shmuel
Weinberger).
