Recognizing Euclidean Space

Abstract.
I will discuss the problem of recognizing and classifying topological manifolds. The talk will include discussions of Milnor's exotic 7- sphere and the Bryant-Ferry-Mio-Weinberger examples of nonmanifolds that have many of the properties of manifold.
