Mathematics Department - Honors Track: Graduation with Honors in Mathematics

Honors Track: Graduation with Honors in Mathematics

Mathematics Undergraduate Program

The department of mathematics has a program for recognizing graduating mathematics majors for outstanding performance. Under this program, such students, upon graduation, may be awarded Honors, High Honors or Highest Honors in Mathematics.

Here are the requirements for this program. As is clear from these requirements it is not necessary for a student to be in the honors track in order to qualify for graduation with honors in mathematics. On the other hand, the honors track is designed so that any student who successfully completes the track with at least a 3.4 GPA in his/her mathematics courses qualifies for graduation with honors. Students who have a very strong performance in the honors track will qualify for higher levels of honors.
