MUSHROOM PAPRIKASH (courtesy of Zsuzsi Dancso) Ingredients: 1 large or 2 medium onions ~1 lb sliced mushrooms Paprika paste (mild and spicy), Paprika powder Oil Salt Sourcream Directions 1. Finely chop onion(s), 2. Cook onion on ~ 4 Tbsp olive oil until slightly translucent 3. Take pan off heat 4. Add lots of paprika cream if you have them (~ 1/2- 2/3 tube of mild, add spicy if you like it spicy). If you don't have them, use lots and lots of paprika powder. Even if you have the paste, you can add paprika powder. 5. Add salt and pepper too if you like pepper 6. Add sliced mushrooms and a bit of water so it doesn't burn. 7. Put back on heat and cook until mushrooms are done and most of the water leaves (the mushrooms yield lots of water), so you get a thick red sauce with mushrooms in it. 8. When it is almost cooked, add a lot of sourcream and let it boil for a few seconds cook (Zsuzsi never said how much sourcream to add). 9. Serve it with your favorite kind of pasta.
