Grading Scheme (I only determine quiz & hw grades):
Exam 1: 100 points
Exam 2: 100 points
Quizes: 80 points
HW: 20 points
Final Exam: 200 points
Total: 500 points
QUIZES:
There will be a quiz at the end of each week’s recitation. They are out of 10 points.
Calculators are not allowed & you must show all of your work for credit.
If you are going to have to miss recitation, then you need to arrange to take the quiz before the recitation time, preferably during office hours.
HOMEWORK:
Please circle your answers!!!
Each assignment will be worth 2 points: 1 point for completion and 1 for the single random problem I will choose to grade each week.
You must show complete work for to receive credit.
Since I go over homework problems in recitation, I cannot accept any homework turned in later than the start of recitation.
To be fair, this includes homework from students who arrive late.
No late work will be accepted.
Even if you are absent, you must turn in all work on the day that it’s due (if you cannot bring it into the recitation, then you need to email it to me or slip it under my door).
CHEATING:
Plagarism, aka cheating, will not receive credit and will be reported to the department if it is reoccuring.
All work must at least be written in your own words & understood.
Show your work!!!
OFFICE HOURS:
I have been told that I am helpful in office hours.
Please consider coming (most preferably not the day before the exam, though I will talk to you then too).
My office hours will be Mon, 7-9pm, HSB 101-2
EXAMS:
No calculators will be allowed on any exams.
The professor writes the exams.
