This directory contains the table of contents and  preface of the

The book will appear in Fall, 1997 (Cambridge U. Press). The material
in the book is NOT available for general classroom use before 
the published book appears.

These files can be previewed using xdvi; for example,
	xdvi contents 

They can be printed by converting to postscript files; for example
	dvips contents.dvi -o contents.ps
and then printing the resulting *.ps file
