Classroom policies/reminders:

It is in your best interest to do the homework. This will make recitation more profitable to you. The quizzes will look similar to the homework, so it will benefit your quiz grade too!
NO Makeup Quizes (It is your responsibility to be at class each week).
It is your responsibility to let me know ahead of time if you will miss class for a valid reason.
Your lowest quiz will be dropped.
I am always happy to answer email or chat with you in office hours if you need help with this course.

Announcements/Reminders:

The last recitation was on Thursday, December 6. I will give all quizzes to Dr. Shtelen by Monday, December 10 so that you can get them back before the final.
The final exam is on Thursday, December 20, 4-7pm, in SEC 117.
To help you study for the final, there are lots of opportunities for help:
- December 10-14
  - Monday Dec 10: lecture
  - Tuesday Dec 11: Lara's normal office hours, 2-4pm
  - Wednesday Dec 12: lecture
  - Thursday Dec 13: (reading day): I will NOT have office hours this day BUT Mike (the other TA for your lecture) is holding a review session from 4-6pm in SEC 212.
- finals week: December 17-21
  - Mon Dec 17: I will hold a review session from 4-6pm in ARC 107
  - Tues Dec 18: extra office hours 1-5pm
  - Wed Dec 19: extra office hours 1-5pm
  - Thurs Dec 20: final exam, 4-7pm, SEC 117

Maple help
- Rutgers Maple Help Pages-- rusty on Maple since you took Math 251? The Rutgers Maple help pages can help jog your memory...
- Diff Eq with Maple-- from McGill University. Gives a few specific examples for solving/plotting solutions to differential equations in Maple
General help
- Differential Equations Notes-- from a professor at Lamar University in Texas (these seem to be fairly thorough, well illustrated, and full of lots of examples)
- Differential Equations video series-- from MIT. (i haven't watched these, but the topics are appropriate for this course, and maybe even give more info than we'll cover. if you'd rather listen than read for a bit, this could be a good way to learn more...)
- S.O.S. Math-- (not as flashy, but includes lots of relevant examples/solutions to diff eq problems)
- Equation World -- pick what your differential equation looks like, this will tell you what the general solution looks like.
Numerical Methods
- Lara's Maple code for the Euler Approximation Method (sections 2.7, 8.1)-- copy and paste the code here into a Maple window, and use it to more quickly compute solutions to Euler method problems
- Lara's Maple code for the Backward Euler Approximation Method (section 8.1)-- copy and paste the code here into a Maple window, and use it to more quickly compute solutions to backward Euler method problems
