Rutgers Undergraduate Prize Exams

Each year a number of mathematics prizes, some carrying a small monetary award, are given to undergraduate students. The prize money for these awards comes from interest on endowments for the various prizes. In some cases, the prizes are given in part on the basis of performance on special examinations given in the Spring semester, usually on a Wednesday morning in late March.

The 2011 Prize Exams took place on Wednesday, March 23, in Hill 705, Busch Campus.

There are two separate prize exams, the Freshman/Sophomore Exam (open only to members of the class of 2013 and the class of 2014) and the Junior/Senior Exam.

Each exam is two hours long. To give students with first or second period classes more flexibility, each student may start the test at any time between 9 and 11 AM. Advance registration is not required; students should simply go to the examination room on the exam day between 9 and 11 a.m. with their picture IDs. No calculators and computers are allowed, cell phones and other communication devices must be turned off during the exam.
