Information on the second exam: The second exam for sections 04, 05, 06 will be given on November 18 (Wednesday) from 3:20 to 4:40 pm in SEC 210 (the lecture time and place). The formula sheet and the review problems for this exam are already posted on the Math 151 web site. To see this formula sheet and the review problems, go to

and click on the link Review in the first column (under the number 151) under the title MATH 151-152 FALL 2009 INFORMATION. The formula sheet and the review problems are under the heading --For Fall 2009. This formula sheet will be included with the exam booklet. You are not allowed to bring any papers to the exam. Calculators are not allowed. Books are not allowed. There are very few formulas on the formula sheet. The exam questions will require you to use formulas that are not on this formula sheet. You have to learn these formulas before the exam.

Grading scheme for sections 04, 05, 06: The final exam will be worth 200 points. Each of the two hourly exams will be worth 100 points. The writeups of the Thursday workshops will be worth 75 points. The homework from the textbook will be worth 50 points. This way, the maximum course score is 525 points. Your course grade will be determined by this score.
The exams: The exams are closed book. No notes are allowed except for the formula sheet that is attached to the exam. Calculators are not allowed. All work must be shown. If you miss an exam, then you must get a written excuse from your dean before you can take a makeup exam.
The workshops: At the end of each Thursday workshop, the teaching assistant will tell you which workshop problem or problems must be written up. You have to do the writeup without consulting other people, even though you worked on the workshop problems in small groups during the Thursday class. The writeup must be in your own words, and the exposition is just as important as the mathematics. The writeup must consist of complete English sentences arranged in paragraphs. The writeup is due at the start of the next workshop. Late writeups will not be accepted.
The textbook homework: The homework problems will be announced during lecture (Monday or Wednesday). They will be due at the next workshop. Late homework will not be accepted.
