The Song of Gossip
by Tamar Zeilberger
A laugh, a giggle, a squeal of joy!
Heads crushed together, ears perked up,
familiar voices swearing not to tell a single soul
with fingers crossed.
Ear-to-ear, the gossip flows.
You never know where it's going to go.
You never know where the secrets head.
Slowly your face turns red.
Pages rustle from the phone book.
The dial tone from the phone
rings in your ear,
slowly you press the numbers that lead you to the
home
of the boy.
You hear a laugh, a giggle,
a squeal of joy!
It's another person's turn to start the gossip!
Chores (Yuck!) by Tamar Zeilberger
Written: May 1999.
I really do hate to say
What happened on that fatal day.
I was supposed to clean my room.
In my hand I held a broom.
I picked up a poster. It was tall.
Then my friends asked me to go the mall.
When I got back I couldn't believe my sight.
Absolutely nothing was going right!
Clothes were everywhere.
Something from under the bed gave me a scare!
The posters on the wall were torn.
My bed looked limp, my stuffed animals were forlorn.
I went to get some slime
Off the wall.
Then I got another phone call.
I went to a movie with everyone
And it was very fun
Until I came back...
Oh dear me, how could this be?
My bed I could no longer see.
My desk had disappeared.
This day was getting very weird
My necessities were no longer there.
How the heck was I to do my hair??
I was starting to have a panic attack.
When something got on my back.
I turned around with a scream.
And realized it was last month's ice cream!
