The classification of reflective arithmetic lattices over totally real number fields

Alice Mark (ASU)

Location:  Hill 525
Date & time: Tuesday, 30 January 2018 at 2:00PM - 3:00PM

Up to commensuratbility, there are finitely many arithmetic hyperbolic real reflection groups. In contrast to Coxeter’s well known classification of the spherical and affine real reflection groups, knowing that there are finitely many doesn’t tell us what they are. In this talk, I will discuss some of the methods used in the proof of finiteness, and I will also talk about some of the work done toward their classification.
