The moduli space of harmonic maps from the 2-sphere to the m-sphere

ABSTRACT: I will describe how to construct any harmonic map from the 2-sphere to the m-sphere using a purely algebraic algorithm. This construction leads, in particular, to a lower bound on the dimension of the space of harmonic maps from the 2-sphere to the m-sphere of a given area. Then I will discuss how to get an upper bound on the dimension of this space.
