Uniform limits of thin sheets of conductors

Abstract:  In this talk I shall derive uniformly valid boundary conditions for the effect of thin sheets of conductors. The novelty is that this boundary condition is valid uniformly in the conductivity of the thin sheet -- that is, it models  the infinitely conducting situation, and the perfectly insulating situation as well all situations in between -- uniformly as the thickness of the sheet approaches zero. I shall discuss the variational techniques that go into a rigorous justification of this boundary condition.
