Abstract: In calculus, Fubini-Tonelli theorem is no doubt one of the most important theorems. By looking at some simple examples, we will find essential benefits of using Fubini-Tonelli theorem. Focusing on these benefits, we will learn that these benefits can also be found in the Change of Variables Formula, which is believed to live in a totally different world! From these observation, we will generalize Fubini-Tonelli theorem so as to include the Change of Variables Formula. This generalization is called the Co-area Formula. Most part of this talk will be just calculus. But a little bit of knowledge on measure theory might be helpful to understand a technical part of the statement.
