Number Theory Seminar

Discrete lattice orbits in the plane

Claire Burrin (Rutgers)

Location:  Hill 525
Date & time: Tuesday, 24 September 2019 at 2:00PM - 3:00PM

Abstract:  Take a lattice in SL(2, R) and let it act linearly on the plane. If the lattice is non-cocompact, the action has a discrete orbit. How are these orbit points distributed in the plane?

I will discuss recent work with Amos Nevo, Rene Rühr, and Barak Weiss, Eisenstein series, and mean-value theorems.
