The Oppenheim conjecture and Ratner's theorems

Abstract:  We will state Ratner's theorems and discuss some examples before seeing how they solve the Oppenheim conjecture (Margulis's theorem).

The main reference for this talk is Morris's "Ratner's theorems on unipotent flows," sections 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.
