Finding Hopf bifurcations
Location: Hill 525
Date & time: Friday, 07 February 2020 at 2:00PM - 2:30PM
Abstract: Bifurcations in dynamical systems are where the behaviour of the system changes qualitatively with respect to a parameter. During this presentation, we will discuss Hopf bifurcations, one of the bifurcations that create periodic orbits. We will see how numerical analysis can help us identify Hopf bifurcations and we will conclude with some results in ODEs, PDEs and biological applications.
