Evaluating a mollified Möbius sum

Date & time: Wednesday, 18 November 2020 at 1:30PM - 2:30PM

Abstract: When implementing the Levinson-Conrey method for producing a positive percentage of critical zeros of the zeta function, one must work out a certain mollified sum of the Möbius function. Without going into the Levinson-Conrey method, we’ll work out how to evaluate this sum, which is a pleasant standalone result that gives the answer very explicitly in terms of the mollifier.
