Computing and verifying Maass forms

David Lowry-Duda (ICERM)

Location:  zoom
Date & time: Tuesday, 09 February 2021 at 2:00PM - 3:00PM

Abstract: In this talk, I describe theoretical and practical aspects of the computation of GL2 Maass forms. We'll describe Hejhal's algorithm to compute the Maass forms and recent methods of Booker, Stromberg, and Venkatesh to certify correctness of these forms. This is part of an ongoing project to rigorously implement and compute Maass forms on a large scale for the L-function and Modular Form Database (LMFDB.org).
