Studying many Boson systems using the Simplified Approach to the Bose gas

Ian Jauslin - Rutgers University

Location:  Hill Center Room 705
Date & time: Thursday, 09 March 2023 at 12:00PM - 1:00PM

abstract: Carlen, Lieb and I have recently revived an old approach to the Bose gas, called the Simplified Approach, and found that it gives very accurate predictions at all densities, at least for a certain class of potentials. Using this method, we have investigated the intermediate density regime, whose analysis had previously been too difficult due to the perturbative nature of previous theoretical tools.  In this talk, I will first review the Simplified Approach, and then present evidence for the fact that the behavior of Boson systems in the intermediate density regime is non-trivial.
