A Hitchhiker’s Guide to Spin Glasses

A half-century after their discovery and initial theoretical work, the nature of real spin-glasses — or, indeed, any spin-glass model in dimensions 2<d<∞ — is still controversial. And — remarkably — the question to which the answer might or might-not be “Replica Symmetry Breaking” is still murky. This talk will focus on the questions, along with some potential scenarios and their experimental consequences.
