 ctural answer when the pieces are tori, and the gluing maps arecluster muta
 tions in the sense of Fomin-Zelevinsky. The combinatoricsof Demazure weaves
  allows to prove the conjecture in interestingcases, notably those in which
  there are finitely many tori, as well asthe simplest ones with infinitely 
 many. This has applications toopen-string Schubert calculus, i.e. computati
