DESCRIPTION:Abstract: I will given an introductory overview of the mathematical theory 
 of gauged linear sigma model, which combines both the nonlinear sigma model
  (pseudoholomorphic curves) and 2-dimensional Yang-Mills theory. The theory
  provides both a conceptual framework packaging various important theories 
 together as well as a practical tool which provides substantial simplificat
 ion and improvements of pseudoholomorphic curve theory (especially in Floer
  theory). \n
