Foam evaluation and its applications

Abstract: Foams are decorated two-dimensional CW-complexes with prescribed singularities embedded in 3-space. They naturally appear in link homology and categorification. In the talk we'll explain the state sum model for foam evaluation that relates to both the Four-Color Theorem and a categorification of the Kuperberg bracket (the quantum SL(3) link invariant).
