Northwestern University
Location: Hill 705
Date & time: Tuesday, 05 May 2026 at 1:40PM - 2:40PM
Abstract: This is an introductory talk on the analysis of neural networks. Neural networks were first introduced in the 1950s as a primitive model of the brain and they remain central to machine learning. I will describe some of the main analytic results of neural networks which help to explain mathematically the power of deep learning. This talk will be accessible to a broad mathematical audience.
